Playwriting Competition Winner Announced

The Atlanta Queer Literary Festival’s International Playwriting Competition attracted 150 gay-themed plays from eleven different nations. The winner of the 2008 Larry Corse Prize for Playwriting is New York playwright Rich Orloff for his comedy Skin Deep

Orloff won the $1,000 prize for a play about a straight Ohio couple who inherit a clothing-optional resort in Key West from their gay son. A visit by the couple to claim the place turns worlds upside down. Orloff put a warning on the play that warns of “rampant off-stage nudity.”

Skin Deep will be produced at the First Existentialist Congregation church in Chandler Park during the Atlanta Queer Literary Festival, October 15-18, 2008. It will be directed by Larry Corse.
